Rustic and relaxed, yet filled with stylish furniture and fixtures, this home is the embodiment of my dream modern farmhouse.
The home belongs to Brian and Jill Faherty, owners of Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co., a lighting and housewares company based in Portland. The renovation of this circa 1958 house was inspired by the Swedish courtyard farmhouses, and accents such as the knotty oak flooring and ship lap walls created the laid back family friendly feeling the Faherty’s were aiming for.
While Schoolhouse still offers hardware and lighting, their offering has grown to include furniture, bed/bath products, and even jewelry. Head to their website if you haven’t already done so.
